We don't exactly think "cost-conscious" when we hear the words "gold" and "champagne." But Cody assured us that those two shades would both add depth and dimension to our fine strands and fade naturally, limiting pricey touch-ups. She scattered whisper-thin pieces around our face and crown, then gilded a few strands along the nape of our neck ("Hair shouldn't be one color when it's worn up and another color when it's down," she explained). The result: a sexy, sun-kissed hue that only looked like a splurge.
